2007 Kris Pinot Grigio
I have always been a fan of Kris Pinot Grigio and think it’s a wine that shows great character in a somewhat crowded section of the wine market. It recently switch to a stelvin enclosure as well which I think is a positive step. On the nose this wine shows very expressive citrus notes combined with baked bread aromas, green apple, sweet roll, and kiwi notes. It comes across slightly toasted and although I don’t believe it was aged in oak, the wine a may have been lees aged or passed through neutral oak. On the palate the wine is citrus driven and shows green apple and kiwi notes that touch down on the palate with crisp acidity. For around $12-$13 I think it’s a really good value.
